FEATURING

L'Auberge is recognized as the only 100% fair trade hotel in Canada . Why?

Because we are the only hotel to offer a set of bath towels made of cotton from fair trade and biological sources. We also offer a wide array of fair trade products at breakfast time and have decorated most of our premises with fair trade handicrafts. Our customers have the opportunity to buy fair trade at our Boutique ÉquiMonde.

TESTIMONIALS
Never have I been in such a beautiful original hotel that puts as much effort into social justice and the environment that it does into its ambience.

What do you do to protect the environment?
We use only certified environmentally safe products to clean the rooms, eco-sensitive toilet paper, facial tissue and paper towels. We also use, if possible, energy-efficient light bulbs (down lights in the corridors, bathrooms). We offer you organic products for breakfast, such as chocolate and cereal. In each room, you have at your disposition a recycling bin and our priority is now on larger containers.

What are the fair trade products you use?
Almost all the decoration elements in your room come from fair trade craftsmanship; also, many food items of your breakfast are fair trade coffee, tea, chocolate, cocoa and sugar.

Do you have elevators?
No, but there is a lift for access to the ground floor, which has rooms adapted for people with disabilities.

Do you have a parking lot?
No, but we have an agreement with the manager of a public parking lot located near the inn (2 minutes walk), which allows you to enjoy a parking space, at a fixed price, for a duration of 24 hours per night spent in our inn. Furthermore, you will find a landing stage in front of l'Auberge, which will give you enough time to take your room and deposit your luggage before you go to the parking lot.

Do you have a restaurant?
No, only a small room for breakfasts. However, you will find a multitude of restaurants for all tastes and adapted to all budgets just minutes from l'Auberge.

How far from the train/bus station are you?
We are located at a 15 minutes walks from Central station. And if you ride a bus and only have carry-on luggage, there is an intercity bus stop just in front of l'Auberge. Quite practical, especially in wintertime!

Is there a swimming pool?
No, but there is a public swimming pool at the Lucien-Borne community center, at 100, chemin Ste-Foy, which is also in the district de la Cité. For more information: 641-6251

Are pets allowed?
We only allow guide dogs in the building to guarantee a clean and safe environment to our clientele.

What time are we allowed in our room?
From 4 p.m.

What time should we leave the room?

You have until noon.

What type of equipment do you have in the rooms?
All our rooms are furnished with queen bed, alarm clock, air conditioning, work desk, ergonomic armchair, hair dryer, television set with cable, wireless high speed Internet access and fair trade decoration. Our luxury rooms and suites have, in addition, a water jet bath. Our suites have in addition a sofa-bet and a mini refrigerator. Also, you have access, upon request, to an iron and ironing board.

What is the distance between the inn and the Old City?
We are located at a 15 minutes walk from Old Québec (right on the foot of the cliff), in the Saint Roch neighborhood, at the heart of the city center.

Where are you exactly in the city center?
On boulevard Charest Est, between Dorchester and de la Couronne streets, near Jardin Saint-Roch and the Gabrielle-Roy library.

What makes you a social economics enterprise?
Our unique owner is a non-profit organization, Carrefour Tiers-Monde, which works in international cooperation. We give them our profits in order that the organization can carry on with its awareness campaigns. In addition, we put forward the values of our owner and we have decided to promote ecological products, fair trade and the local economy. We play an active role in the economic life of our neighborhood and we also take part in international cooperation projects, in collaboration with the Uniterra program.
